FAQs:

• Will this router work with my Internet Service Provider (ISP)? The Fortress will work anywhere that a WiFi router is currently in place. If your ISP gave you an all-in-one system (modem and router combined), you should contact them to inquire about using your own router in place of the one they provided.
• Are there any ongoing costs related to using the Fortress? The Fortress comes with the free ProtonVPN, so there are no ongoing costs. If you decide to upgrade the VPN service to Proton’s premium service, there will be costs associated with this. Parallel provides you with a special discount if you decide to upgrade.
• If I have another VPN installed on a device that I intend to connect to the Fortress, will this cause problems with the Fortress’ installed VPN? Going through two VPNs is not ideal and you will likely notice a speed difference. It’s best to disable the VPN on the device you are connecting to the Fortress (recommended) or to bypass the Fortress VPN service. Instructions on how to bypass the Fortress VPN are included in the start-up guide.
• Will my apps work when I’m on VPN? Increasingly, application developers have become aware of the importance of VPNs and they have increased their efforts at making their applications compatible. However, there may be apps that don’t work correctly and that is the result of the apps’ requirements and not the VPN. Even in these circumstances, there are ways to adjust so that the app works on the VPN.
